Glutathione
Description
Glutathione (GSH) is a naturally occurring tripeptide composed of glutamate, cysteine, and glycine. It functions as one of the body’s most powerful antioxidants, protecting cells from oxidative stress and neutralizing free radicals and peroxides. Glutathione also plays a central role in detoxification, immune support, cellular repair, DNA synthesis, and the recycling of other antioxidants such as vitamins C and E. Research has shown that glutathione levels decline with age, illness, and environmental stress, making it a key focus in studies related to longevity, recovery, and chronic disease prevention.
