Vanguard Laboratory Review
Is Vanguard Laboratory legit?
Vanguard Laboratory holds ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (A2LA cert #6377.01), Washington Dept. of Health accreditation and Washington Dept. of Ecology accreditation, produces batch COAs for peptide vendors reviewed on Peptide Critic, and accepts mailed-in samples from individual researchers.
Vanguard is the most formally credentialed lab in this comparison โ genuine ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation through A2LA (cert #6377.01), plus Washington state Department of Health and Ecology accreditations. It publishes real pricing (ร -la-carte tests $80โ$250, tiered packages $249โ$700) and runs a public, branded verification hub โ "Verified by Vanguard" โ where anyone can look up participating vendors' COAs by name.
That branded database cuts both ways, though: unlike an anonymized public results archive, it's a showcase built with cooperating vendors, not an independent audit trail of everything tested. And the accreditation hasn't quieted community skepticism about accuracy โ forum threads repeatedly flag "bogus COAs" and results that are "all over the place," with specific doubts aimed at its identity testing, which may actually run as FTIR rather than true mass spectrometry depending on the order, a distinction Vanguard doesn't make clear upfront. Turnaround (5โ8 days for purity, 14โ15 for sterility) also runs longer than several competitors. Vanguard is a legitimate, accredited option worth considering for the certification alone โ just don't treat the branded verification hub as a substitute for reading its actual COA methodology line by line.
Family-owned, multi-industry lab (peptides, supplements, food & beverage, water, topicals) using a three-tier package model (Silver/Gold/Elite) plus ร -la-carte tests. It launched its "Verified by Vanguard" branded COA program in January 2026. Note this is a public, brand-named verification hub built with cooperating vendors โ not an anonymized independent results archive.

Discrepancy handling
Vanguard publishes no discrepancy policy on its own site. A vendor client's documented conformity protocol quarantines failed batches, notifies the supplier, and publishes failures anonymously on a public "Reject List." Multiple community threads allege inconsistent results and dispute the accuracy of its mass/identity testing.

What the community says about Vanguard Laboratory
Recent discussion from the Peptide Critic community forum.
Hi @Randy I checked Vanguard Laboratory and MZ Biolabs in particular. I also seen it on a couple others in the past.
Recently I found that Peptidology has introduced a 14-way testing that included TFA and Sterility. Since TFA remnants is a big problem that is for the most part ignored, I got impressed, and made a couple purchases from them.
